SMA Seeking a Comic Artist

WE CAN'T DRAW! :(

Are you or do you know a comic artist looking for public exposure?

The Seattle Marathon Association is searching for a talented individual to illustrate a webcomic for the new and exciting theme of our 2013 Seattle Marathon 5K Race.

The comic will be a series of 6 monthly installments which will be featured at seattlemarathon.org. The launch installment will be released on June 30, 2013 and the final posting will be on November 30, 2013.

Project basics:
  • Four-paneled comic
  • Target audience is adults, but must be family friendly
  • General content/storyline will be provided

The selected artist must be
  • able to meet deadlines
  • able to communicate effectively via email
  • a good communicator

To apply: Please email info@seattlemarathon.org with links to examples of your work and a brief description of your artistic style. We will confirm receipt of your submission and will be in further contact if we feel your style fits the direction we are looking for.

Sharing is Caring: Training for the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon




Spring is approaching and many runners will begin thinking about their training plans for the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon on December 1st. We want to know your plans. What will your schedule be? How far and how often? Share with us your tips, tricks and success secrets that will get you to the finish line and you could be featured on our blog.

The rules are simple:

  • Submissions should be received by 11:59pm on Thursday, February 28, 2013 via email to info@seattlemarathon.org.
  • Be sure to include: First Name, Twitter and/or Facebook handle, whether you’re training for the full or half marathon, and the number of Seattle Marathons you’ve completed

That’s it. The selected work will be published on the Official Blog of the Seattle Marathon in the first week of March. Submissions may be subject to editing as needed.

So get to writing and show us what you’ve got!
